Blog 109: McLaren Vale and Barossa preservation regions

Just want to put this out there…

The SA government is proposing to implement protection for the Barossa and McLaren Vale rural regions. They have prepared the document below and are asking for public comment before the 22nd of July.

I wholeheartedly encourage everyone out there to make a submission, even if you don’t live in the regions, or if you only have time to write that you agree with the principles. If you drink McLaren Vale or Barossa wines, then this impacts you!

What we have here is the opportunity to protect important rural landscapes and food bowls for our state, and it is vital that we have our say as to how these protected zones will look. For those of you who are really interested, I can also send you some more information about how the Napa Valley in the US implemented a very successful agricultural reserve a number of years ago. You can email me! corrina@oliverstaranga.com

Submissions need to be made to publicsubmissions@dplg.sa.gov.au by the 22nd of July.
