Blog 86: Corrina in Canberra

A rather hazy morning at the judging site- the Canberra Racecourse

Flew into Canberra late last night to do some judging for the Winewise Small Vigneron Awards (http://www.winewise.net.au/).

Started the very icy morning squished in the backseat of a rather small car between wine industry legends James Halliday and Ian (Macka) McKenzie.

The judging today included Merlots, Tempranillo, Rieslings & Pinots- with a couple of classes of cheeky fortifieds thrown in.

The Tempranillo line up

Off to dinner now at Thirst Wine Bar & Eatery- very good Thai- I have been reliably informed! (http://www.thirstwinebar.com.au/)

Best rug up for the walk outside…..

POSTSCRIPT: It was so cold walking to the restaurant, that I wasnt suprised when we came across an ice-skating rink in the middle of the mall! But, it was worth the walk for the wine of the night- a gorgeous 1983 Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy Bin 6600.

The Wine of the Night- Thanks Macka
