Sally White has been good friends with Corrina, Nicky and Brioni for many years, so when we heard she was moving back to McLaren Vale from Melbourne- we snapped her up to work in cellar door.
It is Sally’s son, three year old Cooper who coined the name – The Ollyranga’s – which is now our term for all of the kids of the Taranga staff. If you are in on the weekends, Sally is likely to be the first person you see. With her wide smile and easy-going manner, Sally is a great representative for Oliver’s Taranga.
We asked Sally a few questions…
What has been your funniest cellar door moment?
Meeting my next-door neighbours completely by accident! We had been chatting and having a few laughs for about half an hour while they tasted our range of wines and we happened to start talking about the fact that we had all just recently moved in to the area! It turned out they lived right next door to me! We are now great friends!
Best thing about working at Oliver’s?
I really love working with my friends and I am so proud to be a part of such an inspiring team. The girls constantly amaze me with their creative ideas; it is an exciting office to work in! You never know what is going to happen next! I love that every day is different and that I get to meet so many interesting people in cellar door.
2010 Moscato! Yum! Best served chilled or over ice, there is always a bottle (or two) in my fridge for when friends call in!
Recommendations for visitors?
McLaren Vale is such a beautiful place to live, we are so spoilt for choice for places to visit and indulge! A couple of my favourites are Red Poles Gallery/Cafe on McMurtrie Road (http://www.redpoles.com.au/). Such a relaxing, friendly atmosphere and beautiful food (the Passionfruit Soufflé is a must!!!). I also love visiting The Green Room on High Street, Willunga. A beautiful cafe and gift shop with a lovely rustic garden area where you can relax with a coffee while the kids frolic!
