As it transpired Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards had the fastest recorded vintage ever. With one month to the date from start to finish 6th Feb until the 6th March, it has definitely allowed more time to enjoy some of our fantastic weather.
After a fairly cool Summer we have been holding on to our recreational pursuits as the days become gradually shorter. With some fantastic mild weather, no excuse has been made for that last swim, fish or sleep in the sun.
Don Oliver was quick on the office doorstep this morning to brag about his idealistic ‘perfect fishing weekend’ at Port Vincent. His excitement was overwhelming as he stated “our dinner was actually walking straight into the nets” – this was in reference to his crab haul. Not one to be greedy, he didn’t drift around until he completely bagged out but chucked a few lures over the side for some squid for a bit of variety. If you ever need a great place to stay in this lovely part of the world, check out Taranga Moorings accommodation for the perfect family or group getaway.
Brioni has just finished her five consecutive week qualifying WODS, in which her Crossfit Loaded team is hoping to qualify for the Regionals in NSW. The WODS come live from Crossfit in the USA every Friday morning. Morning tea is spent around the screen to see what lifts or exercises they have to perform. Results have to be lodged by the following Tuesday morning. We wish their gang heaps of luck in their competition!
Kieran has been putting us all to shame as well. After her first Park run since having her baby Parker – she equalled her best 5km running time and then followed it up the next day with a 15km Trail Run – Waitpinga Beach to the Victor Harbour Bluff. Despite some very uneven ground and an accidental face plant in the the sand, we think she is a bit of a champ.
I decided to do a yoga instagram challenge. It is bizarre opening up those hips, hearts and minds to the rest of the digital world. There are some clever people out there so that will keep me a humble yogini for quite some time to come.
We would love to spruik our locally written, owned and published Magazine – Fleurieu Living Magazine. If you want a lovely coffee book read of our beautiful part of the world. The articles are well photgraphed and written with insights into the lives of artists, foodies, wine families and local businesses.
Whats more, Corrina, Don and Brioni feature in a 6 page article in the Autumn edition so we think FLM are extra spesh at the moment.
Well I definitely could carry on because Autumn is my favourite time of the year, but we’ll leave you with a gallery of quinces, sunsets (thanks Sarah Boerth) and doggies lazing in the sun!
Happy Autumn and have a safe and Happy Easter!
