The crew at Jolley’s put on a beautiful 4 course meal, matched with some of the latest Oliver’s Taranga releases along with some Museum and Icon wines.
On arrival guests were treated to a glass of the Oliver’s Taranga 2013 ‘Small Batch’ Moscato which went down a treat.
Then we moved onto the first course, a Beet Cured Salmon, with Avocado, Baby Beetroot and Rocket Salad, topped with a Fresh Horseradish. This fresh knockout dish was accompanied with two of our latest White releases, the 2013 ‘Small Batch’ Vermentino and the 2013 ‘Small Batch’ Fiano.
The next course was a beautiful Caramelised Pork Belly with a Green Mango, Cucumber and Peanut Salad, finished with a Red Chilli Nam Jim. The perfect dish for a cheeky glass of both the 2011 ‘Small Batch’ Tempranillo and the 2011 ‘Small Batch’ Grenache. By this stage the conversation was flowing and there were smiles on faces everywhere. Excitement was building toward the main event, the M53 and the main course.
The night did not disappoint and like clockwork out came the Wagyu Rump. Served with Caramelised Shallots, with Smoked Bacon and Mushrooms. Accompanied by 3 glasses of Oliver’s Taranga red. Two wines from the Museum Release range in the 2004 Shiraz and the 2004 HJ Shiraz and finally the new flagship release, a glass of the 2010 M53 Shiraz.
Belly’s were full and the room was humming with activity, the perfect time to top off the evening with dessert. Out came a Chocolate Marquise, with a Bitter Chocolate Sorbet and Compressed Strawberries. And what would a delicious dessert be without a sweet fortified to go along with it. Guests were treated to ‘The Banished’ Fortified Grenache to finish off the evening.
A night on the Torrens well spent. A big thank you to the brilliant people at Jolley’s Boathouse and The Adelaide Magazine for making the night what it was. To the guests that attended as well Oliver’s sends a big thank you for the support, but if you missed out do not worry as there will be more Oliver’s Taranga events on the horizon and we look forward to seeing you there and sharing a glass with you.
