Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, Dec 2013, 92 points

The back label mentions that 2012 may be the “vintage of the century”.
Long way to go, of course.
Fruit and flavour is excellent. Alcohol warmth is a little more distracting. It
tastes of blackberry and asphalt, graphite, salt-bush and cloves. Fruit does
the talking; there’s little oak to speak of here, save for the wine’s creamy
smoothness. Rusty, earthen tannin adds a rustic kind of sophistication.
Balance is good. In a warm-hearted style, this is very good.
