Premium Wines | 2003 Corrina's Cabernet Shiraz Blend
Fergus McGhie, Canberra Times, June 2006
On a winters evening last week, I tried the Corrina's Cabernet Shiraz and, despite my best efforts at restraint, I finished the whole bottle. A supple, rich compote of berry flavours flood the mouth, while Canernet's dusty dry tannins balance the power of the Shiraz just so. I could drink this all winter. It has great cellaring potential, but I'd fail to resist temptation

55% Cabernet 45% Shiraz
100% McLaren Vale, Estate grown
Rich, deep maroon, brick hues.
Cabernet characters of tobacco leaf dominate the nose, with a backbone of stewed plum from the Shiraz.
Consistent with the warmer vintage in 2003, the lifted nose is supported by ripe black fruit characters on the palate. Very soft tannin structure gives a supple mouth feel, an excellent food wine.
