Small Batch Wines  |  2011 Vermentino

Italianicious Magazine- Jan 2012- Gill Gordon-Smith

Oliver's Taranga Vineyards took out the Gold Medal (at the Australian Alternative Varietals Wine Show), with a single vineyard Vermentino fermented in stainless steel and bottled under screwcap. This is a refreshingly bright wine, full of citrus, lime and lemongrass, a light sea-spray character, mouthwatering acidity and a lingering finish. Its a wine that is totally gluggable. McLaren Vale has the winds and the proximity to the sea that classic Vermentino thrives in.
