Premium Wines | 1998 Shiraz
Robert M. Parker, Wine Advocate – Issue 127, 95/100
Potentially the finest effort of this trio, the saturated black/purple/blue-colored 1998 Shiraz offers sensational aromas of blueberries, blackberries, and cassis, a huge, super-concentrated palate, fabulous purity, sweet tannin, and well-integrated acidity. While not yet as complex as the 1997 or 1996, the 1998 has more to it and should prove to be the best wine after another 2-3 years of cellaring. It should age well for two decades.

Burgundy with crimson brick hues.
Subtle and integrated aromas of spice, dark chocolate, savoury oak and plums.
This wine has certainly aged gracefully and is a testament to the brilliance of the 1998 vintage in McLaren Vale. The palate displays concentrated spice, plum and blackberry fruit, supported by rich, integrated tannins.
