Small Batch Wines  |  2011 Fiano

Wine & Viticulture Journal, May/June 2012, Fiano Varietal Report

Straw in colour. Matchstick, chestnut and pronounced almond on the nose with some slightly overt sulphide/yeast characters at first open. One taster described it as having Italian-esque aromas. Varietal characters carry though to the palate which is flinty, dry, slightly green and enriched by a slight phenolic bitterness on the back palate. Long and well-defined finish.
