Premium Wines | 2002 Corrina’s Cabernet Shiraz Blend
This Cabernet/Shiraz blend from the brilliant 2002 vintage was vinified in open fermenters together, creating a brilliantly integrated wine - a signature of the Corrina`s blend.
2002 was a late vintage, that was unusually cool and dry.
This wine is part of our 2014 Corrina's Extravaganza 6 pack release. Here is how the 2002 is looking now......................................
Bright generous dark berry fruits on nose. Some wet stone and tar notes. Lovely weighty fullness on the palate. Generous weight and extremely mouthfilling, with dark fruits and mocha flavours abound. Excellent structural tannins. My favourite at the moment, from a spectacular vintage. 18/20

A combination of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Shiraz the 2002 Blend offers copious quantities of black currant, coffee, blackberry and melted licorice, and smoky aromas as well as flavours. Opulent, full-bodied and chewy this beauty was aged in both French and American wood of which 25% was new. Drink it over the next 5-6years.

Pretty blueberry and blackberry fruits given lashings of cedary oak and chocolatey complexity for company. Finishes with ample persistence supported by softly textured tannins. 4 stars.

Nicks Wine Merchants – Melbourne Writes about 2002 Oliver's Taranga Corrina's Cabernet
Another brilliant effort from the 2002 vintage by the Oliver's, showing excellent ripe Cabernet flavours. Totally opaque black purple colour with deep purple hue. Superbly perfumed nose. Top note of violets, followed by spice and blackcurrant. The palate continues to impress. Mouth filling flavours of spice, blackcurrant, and liquorice overlaid with violet infusions and vanilla. Excellent palate length, with velvet smooth tannins. Very long aftertaste of spice, blackcurrant, plum and blackberry with fine dusty tannins persisting. Cellar: 3-4 years (2005-2006)
