Premium Wines | 2008 Corrina’s Cabernet Shiraz Blend
The very hot & drought effected vintage of 2008 resulted in some miniscule crop levels. The Corrina’s Shiraz Cabernet is made via a technique called co-fermentation-where by the fruit is blended in the vineyard and fermented as one, rather than making a separate Shiraz wine, a Cabernet wine and blending afterwards. This is a very old technique, and is a favourite of our winemaker for this wine. It does mean that the Corrina’s isn’t made every year- there was no 2007 vintage made.

Deep, healthy colour; co-fermented (a particular challenge in ’08) and strongly regional, the bouquet is especially attractive; inevitably, full-bodied, but there is a certain suppleness and smoothness to the palate that is appealing.
- Jeremy Oliver, Australian Wine Annual 2010, 92 points
A plush, smooth and fine-grained blend whose sweet expression of dark plum, cassis, blackberry fruit, cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak, cloves, cinnamon overlie meaty, gamey characters. Framed by a firmish, fine-grained tannin, its long, polished juicy palate finishes long and spicy, with lingering nuances of roasted coffee and mocha. Elegant and balanced.
