Tasting Notes:

“2005 was a very strong vintage for McLaren Vale, a mild December and January was followed by a very dry harvest season, allowing for optimal ripening. Bright deep maroon in colour. Loads of dark chocolate, tea leaves, earthy spice and stewed plums on the nose. Still looking bright and fresh. On the palate, the chocolate character follows through, a bright burst of dense black fruits, and lovely supple tannins. Has my mind wandering and mouth watering- must pop some slow cooked beef cheeks into the wood oven with roasted heirloom vegetables this winter! The 2005 has aged in our own cellar, at optimum conditions, for your enjoyment. Cheers, Corrina.”

Nine years young, still full of vim; the colour is excellent, the bouquet with a complex array of dark fruits, polished leather, dark chocolate and earth, the medium-bodied palate swelling on the finish, saying if you have problem, flaunt it, the alcohol enlisted as friend, not foe.
