Small Batch Wines | 2010 Grenache
We use old French oak only on our Grenache, letting the varietal characteristics stand out. 2010 was a spectacular year-one of the best of the decade. After a few years of heat waves and droughts, 2010 was perfect with a mild growing season, rain at all the right times and no heat shocks.

"Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards ‘Cadenzia’ McLaren Vale Grenache 2010: To quote Jamie Oliver “lovely jubbly.” Or pre Oliver the TV show Only Fools and Horses, where the character Del Boy pronounced it with a south London accent 'lavverly Jabberly'. It’s maybe not the tasting note the winery would like but it does the job as far as I am concerned 95 points and good value at $30"

92 points “This is an elegant, honest and soulful little grenache from the small producer, delivered in a earthy, balanced style that’s made
for early drinking. The nose has bright red-fruit aromas, a little spice and liquorice; the palate delivers impressive pure re-berry fruits, lithe
tannins and deep yet elegant finish. Terrific balance here too.”
- Jeremy Oliver, Jan 2011
‘an elegant, slowly maturing grenache with a fiery, spicy perfume of blue flowers, red berries, blood plums and dark cherries. Medium to full-bodied, it’s long and even, with a smooth, juicy presence of dark plums and blackberries underpinned by fine, crunchy tannins and restrained oak. It finishes with vibrancy and freshness and focus.’ 92 points
