2010 M53 Shiraz
M53 is the Oliver Family horse and cattle brand that dates back to the 1880's. Although the horses and cattle have now moved on, the vineyards that have replaced them are recognised in the production of this single block Shiraz. Produced from a single block on the Taranga vineyard, only in years of high quality and tiny volumes, this Shiraz is the pinnacle of our Oliver's Taranga Shiraz.
2016 The hunt for Mrs Oliver Fiano Méthode Traditionnelle
Weaving along the garden path, the hunt is always on. Lost in the flora you may find her, in-between the offbeat pots. Tending to everything from topiary to mowing the front lawn; the search can be a long one, under the beating Fleurieu sun. But you can rest assured, she will always leave small clues; scribbled on cut-up envelope, even hidden in your food. When you finally find her, there will be a sweet reward; for Marjorie is a flower - a crown our family proudly adorns.

2012 DJ Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
This is the fourth release of the DJ Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is dedicated to Don ‘DJ’ Oliver, the 5th generation and
current caretaker of the prized Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards. Born in post-war McLaren Vale, as a young boy after school Don would
ride the family’s Clydesdales bareback to the stables after helping out in the vineyards.
2013 HJ Reserve Shiraz
This is the eleventh release of an Oliver’s Taranga Reserve Shiraz, and it is celebrating with a bit of a label spruce up! The new look hasn’t changed the fact that the HJ is picked from the very best parcels of old vine Shiraz on the Taranga vineyard – it has been barrel selected and bottle aged for optimum enjoyment.

2006 HJ Reserve Shiraz
The hot and dry 2006 vintage was off the back of a very wet spring, allowing for great development of flavour on the Taranga vineyard. A strong vintage for the region.
2007 was one of the worst drought years on record. Irrigation was crucial in 2007 as there was no sub-soil moisture when the vines started to grow, and as a consequence the crops were very small. Oliver’s vineyard crops were reduced by 70% on a normal year. What we lost in quantity, we gained in quality.

Small Batch Wines
2015 ‘Alfresco’ Grenache
We love Grenache in all of its different forms here at Oliver's Taranga! This year we decided to do something a little different and release a parcel of our Grenache as an early drinking style. Just as the French with their Beaujolais Nouveau or the Spanish with their Joven Tempranillo, we bring you the Al Fresco Grenache! Serve lightly chilled, outdoors with your mates, on a lovely warm
2016 ‘Chica’ Mencia Rose
Mencia is a native variety of Spain, in particular the Bierzo region in the north-west of the country. It has been enjoying a rebirth of prominance in its home country, and Oliver's Taranga are the first to plant it in Australia.
2015 Corrina’s Shiraz Cabernet Blend
The ‘stars aligned and the vines combined’ again for us in 2015. The Corrina’s Shiraz Cabernet is made via a technique called co-fermentation where
by the fruit is blended in the vineyard and fermented as one. Rather than making a separate Shiraz wine and Cabernet wine and blending afterwards. This is a very old technique, and is a favourite of our winemaker for this wine. It does mean that the Corrina’s isn’t made every year as we
need to make sure that we have Cabernet (typically later ripening) and Shiraz ripe at the same time.
Fiano is relatively new variety to Australia, and originates from the Campania region of Italy. Fiano is super heat and drought tolerant, being able to maintain acidity in the grapes even in our hot South Australian summers.
Our 2016 vintage had a very dry and warm lead up, but a lovely rain in early February and the following cool spell allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly.
This minimal intervention Fiano is made with indigenous yeast, has no added acid and is made without the use of oak.
The 2014 vintage was a warm one, and crops were quite low indeed. This resulted in exceptional intensity of flavour.
Never tasted Mencia before? May as well start now! A new variety to Australia from its home in Spain, it’s packed with flavour. Made in the ‘joven’ style – meaning that it has limited oak and is fresh and slurpy and ready to drink.
- 2017 Moscato
We love working with this rare Italian variety in our vineyard, especially for its more savoury notes and rustic charm. We use old
French oak only on this wine, letting the varietal characteristics stand out. Sagrantino has its original home in Montefalco in
Umbria, Italy- but we like to think it has found a new home with us in McLaren Vale. We were blessed with a spectacular
vintage in 2012 - the reds will be talked about for along time! Low cropping with great intensity.
Tempranillo is fast becoming a preferred variety in McLaren Vale, with its more savoury notes and rustic charm. We use old French oak only on this wine, letting the varietal characteristics stand out. The 2014 vintage was a warm one, and crops were quite low indeed. This resulted in exceptional intensity of flavour. Again, only a very small portion of the Tempranillo was made, don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

2013 Vine Dried Cabernet Sauvignon
In the spirit of trying new things, we had a bit of a play with some spectacular Cabernet from our vineyard. We turned to the Amarone method that has been used for centuries in Italy. A portion of the vineyard was handpicked and then dried in the air racks for 10 days. After the berries have concentrated and dehydrated slightly, straight into the fermenter they go. The fresh picked grapes are crushed on top, and the fermentation continues as normal.

NV Ruthless Ruth Liqueur Muscat 350ml
Archibald Oliver inherited 800 acres of the family property when pioneer William passed away in 1888, but it was Archibald's stern Ruth, whom he married in 1879, that kept the family business in health while Archibals and his brothers led a more scurrilous lifestyle. Records show grape payments made by 'Kay Brothers' in 1925 to 'Mrs Oliver' whose husband Archibald had long since passed.
NV The Banished Fortified Grenache (500ml)
We have had to practice a lot of patience while adding small amounts to our fortified over the last 20 years, with just the odd sneak down to the port shed for a little taste.....

‘Ambush Hill’ Red Wine Vinegar
Ambush Hill can be defined as the act of waiting in a concealed position in order to launch a suprise attack. Just like it's namesake this Red Wine Vinegar from Oliver's Taranga Vineyards is bottled and when released performs a dance on the tastebuds.
1841 Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Olives have always been planted on the Oliver’s Taranga property, so we have worked with local olive oil makers, the Scarfo family to produce this flavoursome extra virgin olive oil each year.
