3 hour Sunset Tour on the Coorong

Port Willunga

‘Port Willy’ as the locals call it, is one of the best beaches in the country. Don’t just take our word for it, it’s a fact polled by Adelaidians. On a good day, you’ll get crystal clear cool water, silky white sand and waves that are just the right size not to endanger the younguns. On a bad day however, and one such happened in the winter of 1888, you could wreck your favorite 3 masted Irish grain cargo ship… I hate it when that happens! In all seriousness, the shipwreck of the Star of Greece is an interesting story and part of Port Willy’s history, take a peep and check it out here…
One of the most popularly photographed spots in the entire region is the ruined Jetty haphazardly poking out of the sea at Port Willunga. Go on, go take a pic. If you don’t it’s like going to the leaning tower of Pisa and not doing one of those leaning shots. There’s some weird as man made caves going on near that site too. Some say the caves were for sailors to stash things in, some say a yeti lives there named Bert. If you’re lucky though, and the irritating teenagers are taking a break from selfy-ing themselves in there, it’s a quiet spot to close your eyes and listen to the echoing calm sounds of the coast.
