WINE & VINTAGE

Tempranillo is fast becoming a preferred variety in McLaren Vale, with its more savoury notes and rustic charm. Encourage you to seek out more Tempranillo and enjoy it with food and friends. 2022 was a cracking vintage. A long slow ripening period making for perfect flavour and tannin development.

HISTORY

With 300 acres of premium grapevines on the Taranga property, the Oliver family has
over 50 blocks representing different grape varieties, clones, soil types & vine ages. Each vintage, different varieties & blocks will show their strength and from this has been born the β€˜SMALL BATCH’ range. These wines have been handcrafted to speak of both the variety and the vintage in which they have been produced.

WHAT THE WRITERS HAVE TO SAY

Gabrielle Poy

Raspberries and licorice intermingle in the fleshy core. This is laced with bitter tannins that add interest and dimension. The clarity of the fruit shines through, it's been picked with precision. This has great balance and appeal.

Jeni Port

Another Spanish grape variety gaining ground – and fast – in McLaren Vale. It scores big on flavour generosity and well-honed tannins, just don’t compare it to Shiraz. It hates that. This is a full-blooded Tempranillo setting a cracking pace as it roams across the tongue. Black cherry, plum, earth, dried fig aromas. Contrasts a pleasant, easy-going nature with plenty of stand-up structure and freshness. Earthiness mingles amongst sweet, ripe fruits with a good pinch of dried herbs and dusty tannins thrown in.
