Small Batch Wines | 2012 Grenache
James Halliday, The Wine Companion, 93 points
Wine Companion tasting note.

Estate-grown, matured for 18 months in used French hogsheads. McLaren Vale dark chocolate comes thundering through the moment the wine is tasted, the red fruits of the grenache hanging on for dear life on the finish and aftertaste. Is it a caricature? No, it's not, but it has to be placed in context.

Pretty floral and forest floor notes abound. Cherry spice, cinnamon and nutmeg jump form the glass. Tar and spices.
Red Cherry throughout the palate, generous spice and sweet floral notes, tarry savoury finish. Medium bodied and fresh.
