The estate vineyards were planted in 1948 after HJ (Bert) Oliver returned from RAAF 458 Squadron after WWII. It is the essence of McLaren Vale shiraz, rich, warm and generous black fruits, a ladle of dark chocolate, and ripe tannins. It carries its alcohol, and will coast through the next 30 years.
