History
With 300 acres of premium grapevines on the Taranga property in McLaren Vale, the Oliver family has over 50 blocks representing different grape varieties, clones, soil types & vine ages. Each vintage, different varieties & blocks will show their strength and from this has been born the ‘SMALL BATCH’ range. These wines have been handcrafted to speak of both the variety and the vintage in which they have been produced.
Aroma
Violets, forest berries, wet stone, red licorice, nanna’s boiled sweets.
Wine & Vintage
This is the sixth release of our Brioni’s Blend. As you know, we like to name our wines after family members, and Brioni had got away without one for too long. The 2024 blend includes the famous Portuguese variety Touriga, delicious Grenache and some Mencia to round out the blend. It also means all the varieties original homes are in the Iberian Peninsula. This is the perfect special sauce to celebrate our Brioni.
Palate
Jumps out of the glass, soft and juicy, fresh and vibrant. The forest fruits sing through the palate. Channel sitting in a plaza in Spain with a plate of tapas - delicioso!
The Year That Continued
In 2024 we were thrilled to be the home base for the inaugural RADL GRVL cycling event. The GRVL events have been operating for many years in Steamboat Springs in Colorado, and Lahti in Finland. Partners in the GRVL events, our friends Valtteri Bottas and Tiffany Cromwell, wanted to bring an event to South Australia during Tour Down Under, and McLaren Vale amongst the vines seemed like the best fit. In 2024, 300+ riders braved a 110km gravel ride through the hills and vineyards of our region.

Reviews
This wine blew my mind last year and once again it has hit the mark. So juicy, it’s a fabulous slurp. The same makeup as the 2022, this 2023 release sees Mataro, Touriga, and Shiraz fused together once more. Dried petals and pretty scents of blue flowers are partnered by vibrant blue and purple fruit. Touriga has an absolute ability to bring the prettiness and it’s no different here. Some meatiness in the form of pan juices skirts the edges with a basket of berry fruit and blueberry/mulberry pie delight. Long with a little tension to keep you curious, it’s a luscious and engaging wine. For $35, you are doing very well. Go here. Drink to five years. 93 points 2023 vintage
