2015 Vintage: Machine-harvested, Olivers Old Clone planted '48, destemmed and crushed, 3 days cold soak, wild yeast open-fermented, 10 days on skins, matured in French hogsheads (35% new). The quality of the 70yo estate vineyard is immediately obvious, the wine with a rare multiplicity of aromas and flavours spanning the earth and sky; old, polished leather, dark chocolate and rich, dark fruits, all caught in a silken web of purple and black fruits by ultra-soft, but persistent, tannins. - 97 Pts

2018 Vintage: Hand picked from the Old Block (planted ‘48), gently crushed before an ambient ferment with no acid, tannin or sulfur additions, racked to French hogsheads (35% new). Sulfured after mlf. Unfined. A deep crimson. Violet, blueberry, black cherry, anise, boysenberry and nori scents curl their way around a pillar of toasty mocha oak. While apparent, it is far from obtuse, operating as a welcome signpost to the wine's warmth, richness and cavalcade of flavours. Long and generous, without being loud. - 95 Pts
