Grenache is the most widely planted red grape in the world and responsible for the velvety, voluptuous mouthfeel that people love in wine; but it rarely gets the credit it deserves because it’s often used in blends. It’s time to change all that! Grenache enthusiasts are connecting all over the world and coming together to celebrate this groovy grape.
In the stronghold of Grenache in South Australia – McLaren Vale – a number of wineries have joined forces to organise the “International Grenache Day tweet-up”.
Visitors and locals alike are invited to attend the Vale Inn Taphouse in McLaren Vale where they will be able to sample different styles of Grenache wines from a range of the region’s wineries, and then kick up your heels from 8pm when the DJ hits the decks.
