THE YEAR THAT
La Nina provided us with an almost perfect growing season.

TASTING NOTE

AROMA
Black pastilles, violets and lilacs, cherries and blueberries. A savoury herb edge.
PALATE
Medium bodied on the palate, but finished with mouthcoating tannins. There is a real plushness to the palate, flavourful and full of floral and cherry fruit elements. Fruit, oak and tannin all knit together seamlessly with immaculate balance.
WINE & VINTAGE

From its traditional home in Spain this variety is new to Australia and it’s packed with flavour. Made in the ‘Joven’ style- meaning that it has limited oak and is fresh and slurpy and ready to drink. Whip up some Paella and settle in for a long lunch (and a lifelong love affair) with this Spanish beauty. 2022 gave us a long slow ripening period, perfect for flavour development.

HISTORY

With 300 acres of premium grapevines on the Taranga property, the Oliver family has over 50 blocks representing different grape varieties, clones, soil types & vine ages. Each vintage, different varieties & blocks will show their strength and from this has been born the ‘SMALL BATCH’ range. These wines have been handcrafted to speak of both the variety and the vintage in which they have been produced.

QWine Reviews

A Spanish variety, this Oliver's Taranga is gold plated with silky lines calling for lazy, long afternoons with plentiful plates of food within arm's reach. Dripping with dark cherries, it's the savoury personality that shines bright. Feed this and it will nourish you. A brilliant wine.

This is a cuvée to follow. A joy to drink and better each year. A variety that thrives in mountainous turf with strong maritime (Atlantic) influence, somewhat akin to cool-climate syrah, sans the domestic predilection for rubbery reduction. Floral and perky. Red fruits and white pepper-clad salami doused in brine and smattered with herbs. A volatile beat, in the best sense. Mid-weighted of feel and immensely versatile at the contemporary Australian table.
