Reviews
- Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
The opaque ruby coloured 2002 Shiraz exhibits terrific fruit intensity, voluminous, beautifully textured, full throated flavours, low acidity and tremendous purity as well as intensity with the oak component kept well in the background. It should drink well for 7-10 years.

A sensational Shiraz from McLaren Vale. Totally opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. The nose is superb with lift of violets, spice, white pepper, blackberry, dark chocolate and vanilla. The palate flavours explode, delivering concentrated flavours of black pepper, blackberry, vanilla, plum and spice with a touch of anise emerging on the back palate. Outstanding length and depth with fine grained perfectly balanced tannins followed by exceptionally long aftertaste of spice, white pepper, vanilla and liquorice. Cellar 5-8 years (2007-2010)

As years go, it's increasingly obvious that 2002 was an astounding year for McLaren Vale reds. And the years have certainly gone by at Oliver's. They started in 1841; it's our sixth oldest brand. Cooking chocolate, coffee beans and, dare I say, black olives simmer away un the complex, velvety soup. Perfect with a Jeavon's pizza with black olives.
